Hey, I am Ashraf Uddin. I’m a digital marketer and SEO expert. Today I will review “MailChimp” 2023 (The latest Version).
Welcome To My “MailChimp Review” 2024 (Updated version)
In this review, I’m going to be taking a closer at the marketplace Mailchimp-review
What is Mailchimp?
Mailchimp is an all-in-one Marketing Platform for businesses. The vendor says its goal is to help small businesses market smarter to multiply. Mailchimp aims to be the spine for customer relationships with AI-powered, user-friendly tools. Mailchimp is designed to put the audience at the center so users can send marketing emails and automated messages create targeted ad campaigns, build a landing page, facilitate reporting and analytics, and sell online.
Categories: Email Marketing, Landing Page, Marketing Automation, Sales and Marketing Automation, Survey and Forms Building, Website Builder, and All-in-One Marketing.
MailChimp Overview & Pricing
MailChimp offers four different versions of its platform: Premium, Standard, Essentials, and Free. Each version comes with additional features for contacts and the number of emails you can send.
Here’s what the feature lists look like:
The critical difference is how many contacts & emails you can send per month.
We begin to see more differences with targeting options and analytics/testing.
Email Marketing Features
Now that you have got an idea of what the different MailChimp packages have to offer, let’s take a closer look at its most valuable features.
MailChimp’s From Builder
Before you can create an email marketing campaign in MailChimp, you have going to need a list of subscribers & this means getting sign-ups from your site. MailChimp comes with a built-in form builder to get you started and this is a crucial tool for any email marketing platform.
To be honest, the builder is pretty average & the interface is not as other parts of the MailChimp experience.
MailChimp Campaigns
Once you’ve got yourself an email marketing list to work with you can start creating your campaign in MailChimp.
?Regular: Create custom HTML email campaigns, choose whether to send them immediately, and customize your content or schedule for later.
?Automated: Create campaigns with basic automation features, depending on which different of MailChimp you’re using.
?A/B testing: Send more than one version of the same campaign to see which one gets the good results.
? Plain text: Send a text-only email without any images.
If you’re only going to use MailChimp as a basic tool for sending easy email marketing campaigns when the regular campaign type does a decent job.
If this is all you need, MailChimp is the best option. Well look at MailChimp’s automation features in the next section but the quick answer is they’re nothing to get excited about.
Facebook Ad Campaigns
To help you reach a wider audience and build an email list, MailChimp also comes with a Facebook Ad Campaigns feature. This helps you create and purchase an ad for Facebook & Instagram to promote your email offer all of which you can do without leaving your MailChimp account.
Once again, we do not get a sophisticated Facebook marketing strategy by using the feature but it’s a nice addition for a regular business that wants to expand its audience but isn’t quite ready to manage its own Facebook advertising account yet.
Landing Pages
MailChimp also comes with a built-in landing page builder and you can create as many as you want, regardless of which version you’re using. There are two types of lending page templates: one for building promoting products and another for your email list.
Email Templates
In terms of email templates, you can either choose from MailChimp’s customize them yourself or start with one of its “themes”, which are essentially fully designed emails where you easily need your own content.
You can also code your templates from scratch which gives you a whole bunch of added flexibility. It’s certainly a welcome feature although it seems small beyond the scope of MailChimp’s limitations elsewhere.
As far as email templates go, MaliChip’s offering is up there with the best tools on the market & this is one of the platform’s strengths.
Email Designer

Even better than MailChimp’s is the drag-and-drop that allows you to design campaigns on the fly. It’s intuitive, runs smoothly, is flexible in the browser, and gives you all the WYSIWYG customization you need to build engaging email designs.
Automation Features:
This is where MailChimp has really fallen back from the competition over the years. Email marketing without automation is like trying to build cars without a factory: it’s possible to build one yourself but you have never going to produce a line of vehicles at scale and sell them to the masses.
Let’s note that MailChimp does not offer any email automation at all it does, but it is basic.
Auto Responses
You can set up autoresponse & reach out to new contacts as soon as they sign up & schedule emails for a set time ( one day after they join your list). You can also set up a series for things like users’ birthdays or festive messages during the holiday season.
Google remarketing ads
MailChimp will automatically create Google remarketing ads for your campaigns to target users as they continue to browse the website. The idea is to bring back visitors who didn’t buy the time around & give them the incentive to make the buy.
Recover abandoned carts
This is probably MailChimp’s impressive automation feature, sending out email reminders to customers who’ve abandoned their encouragement and cart them to complete the buy.
Feedback
MailChimp also includes some basic feedback automation, allowing you to reach out to customers after they’ve purchased it for you. You can send quick surveys, ask them to leave a view or offer helpful advice, and set the time you want these emails to be sent out (e.g.: 15 days after the buy)
Personalized product recommendations
Another handy automation feature for e-commerce brands is personalized product suggestions.
You design the email & MailChimp will automatically create a list of recommendations based on your target customer’s purchase history.
It’s not the most advanced algorithm in buyer history.
It’s not the most advanced algorithm powering the feature, so you’ll need to have a decent number of customers making products or multiple purchases that are quite obviously related.
What you can not with MailChimp automation
While MailChimp does offer some useful automation features, it falls seriously short on what matters to email marketers like segmentation. You do get basic segmentation options across each version of the platform and you can also pay up to get advanced segmentation from the pro plugin.
Pros and Cons
PROS
- Thorough reporting
General everything you need to know, including clients, social media, geo-tracking, and Google Analytics integration.
- Great template Editor
MailChimp sports a clean interface and an easy, but powerful editor.
- Endless Integration Options
Mailchimp offers over 500 integrations and add-ons. Therefore you can easily incorporate any marketing tools that you are already using and discover tools for your business.
- Additional Features:
Mailchimp continues to expand its feature set, the most recent additions being appointed scheduling software and the online store builder.
CONS
- No email scheduling on the free plan:
MailChimp recently removed this feature from its free popular plan, which makes it far less for us.
- High-Cost Subscription Plans:
Due to the significantly low monthly email sends and subscriber limit within the free plan, , marketers will need to move onto the paid plans sooner, and the prices get steep pretty quickly.
MailChimp Verdict
If you only need to fire out the occasional round of emails, MailChimp is a good option for your business. It’s mostly a very intuitive platform & the drag-and-drop email builder in particular is a joy to work with.
Unfortunately features you are going to need features if you want to do email marketing at scale.
For us, email marketing is at the center of our business, and MailChimp doesn’t come finished with offering the features we need.
